TO: All Staff FROM: Office Manager DATE: 16 November 2014 SUBJECT: Company Policy on Personal Phone Use We feel there is a need for individuals to keep a personal mobile phone on their person in the event of an emergency, to schedule events and appointments, or for entertainment purposes during scheduled breaks. That is why there is currently no restrictions on having personal phones at the office during scheduled work hours. It has come to the company’s attention however that several members of staff have been abusing the privilege and using company time to make personal phone calls and engage in text message conversations. All employees are being reminded that personal phone use is against company

The policies were put into place because not only is this a misuse of time better spent taking care of our customers’ needs, but it is a distraction to fellow co-workers. If the transgressions continue there will be policies put into place where no mobile devices are allowed at or near the office. To prevent these new policies from being put into place will require compliance from all employees about not participating in personal phone use when at their desk and especially during scheduled shifts. If there are further inquiries on the company’s policies they can be found in the Employee Handbook or by contacting a member of management with any questions or concerns....
