ANDHRA UNIVERSITYNATIONAL SERVICE SCHEMEBRIEF REPORT ON NSS ACTIVITIES OF ANDHRA UNIVERSITY FOR THE YEAR 2018-2019NSS Volunteer’s StrengthThe NSS Volunteers’ strength allocated for NSS cell of Andhra University for theyear 2018-19 is 28,400 and theactual enrolmentis 30100. Out of which 19565 are maleand the remaining 10535 are female volunteers (SC: 4920, ST: 2098 & Others: 22984).State level Planning, Training and Review Meeting at AnantapuramuThe Programme Coordinator of NSS has attended a two-dayState level Planning,Training and Review Meetingon NSSat Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapuram on27th& 28thApril, 2018.All the NSS Programme Coordinators of Andhra Pradesh statedhave participated in the meeting and discussed the plan of action, review of NSSactivities, etc.Swachh Bharat Summer Internship ProgrammeThe Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS) in association with theMinistry of Human Resources Development launchedSwachh Bharat Summer InternshipProgrammewith an aim of Making Swachhata a Jan Andolan. The internship wasundertook by college student for the duration of 100 hrs during the period starting 1stMayto 31stJuly 2018.In each institute/college have a designate Nodel Officer who guided thestudent throughout the internship. A portal () has been developed forthe purpose of Registration of interns and to upload the reports.The internship expected to make the volunteers more sensitive towards Swachhatasensitize rural youth and generate Awareness. NSS volunteers with their glories traditionof community service are best suited to join internship in large number by enrolling.Training of Trainers programme on Employability SkillsThe NSS Cell of Andhra University organised a 3-dayTOT Programme onEmployability Skillsin association with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of YouthDevelopment (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur from 14thto 16thMay, 2018 at the PlatinumJubilee Guest House, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. About 48 NSS ProgrammeOfficers from different colleges of Andhra University area participated in this programme.Prof. G. Nageswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. V. Uma Maheswara Rao, Registrar, Prof.R.D. Sampath Kumar, NSS Programme Coordinator of Andhra University and Prof. A.Chandra Mohan, Registrar, RGNIYD, Dr. Vasanthi Rajendran,Professor, CTOCB, RGNIYD,Sriperumbadur were present.
