Usability Engineering
-Describes a process of user interface development, sometimes referred to as user
centered design.
A user-centered design is a life cycle process that puts an early emphasis on “user task
analysis and actual user involvement in the design and testing of product”
Because a product developed with such a user-centered process is likely to be more
usable product than one that is developed independent of user considerations and
involvement
Usability
-is a quality that attribute that assess how easy user interfaces are to use
- the word usability also refers to methods for improving ease-of-use during the design
process
Learnability
- How easy it is for user to accomplish basic tasks the first time they encounter the
design?
- Once users have learned the design, how quickly can they perform tasks? - When users return to the design after a period of not using it, how easily they
reestablish proficiency?
- How many errors do user make, how severe are these errors, and how easily
can they recover from the errors?
- How pleasant is to use the design?
Why usability is important?

if the home page fails to clearly states what the company offers just like what is shown
in the screen and what users can do on the site people will leave.
