Adult Influences over Children . “Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blending and communions of death and life , their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star , and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life .” John Muir, a writer and perservationalist, knows something we all need to become aware of , that children need to learn important lessons from nature. Yet nowadays no time is spent in nature . Children spend their days locked up inside buildings. There are several reasons to this, but one main reason is their adult influences. Children look up to the adults in their lives . If they see that their parents and teachers sitting inside tapping away on computers, they in turn will do the same . Technology can be a great thing , but if used improperly, can do more harm than good. Technology has been on the rise for many years now. Sixty-two percent of all Americans are in possession of a wireless or mobile device. Seventy-three percent of all American adults are connected and use the internet. Sixty million Americans say that the internet helped them make big decisions or negotiate their way through major episodes in their lives ( Some technology is amazing and very useful. But our dependence on it is becoming a scary thing. Technology is a huge part of our lives and there is no way to deny that, but why are people using it as a life coach? Cell phones , computers, and video games are all seemingly good things. But they can lead to our downfall
