When mentioning healthcare disparities, most relate the inequalities to medical facilities
and access to the providers/services within a certain population or community pertaining to those
medical facilities. However, healthcare disparities are not limited to medical facility treatment, it
also includes dental facility treatment. Good health begins with your oral health and a good
dental health begins prior to the adolescence stage. Ineffective oral health impacts your speech
and the ability to eat properly, in addition, bad oral hygiene habits produce harmful bacteria
under the gums and in the mouth that not only can affect your appearance and the smell from
your mouth, but if swallowed can lead to an overall health problem, such as heart disease,
