Peterson Domestic violence is a very well-known term. This term describes many different situations, but most commonly related to intimate relationships between a man and a woman in which one partner (usually male) assaults and intimidates to overpower and control the other partner. Domestic violence has been recognized as a major woman’s health issue. Not only does domestic violence include violent attacks, it can also be psychological, economic, and sexual abuse. Domestic violence is a widespread problem in the United States that occurs among all ages, genders, and races. Every year, about 2,000 women are murdered by there current or former male partners. When the warning signs are spotted it is already too late to prevent the domestic violence even if it is only verbal or psychological instead of physical. Information materials should be made to help the potential abuser recognize his feelings to prevent anything worse from happening. Studies have shown that woman are mainly abused by their male partners. Although women are not the only people that are victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence can happen to teenagers, parents, and children. Domestic violence occurs in all cultures with people of all races, ethnicities, and religions.
