Ryan Toloy PHIL 186 11/3/2015 Homework 11 2) From a legal standpoint, I don’t think employees have a right to have guns stashed in their cars. From a moral standpoint it’s more understandable, as people these days sometimes have to log in extra hours of work, so when they leave the workplace most of the time they will be by themselves, while also being dark outside. I don’t think employees should have the right to have a gun in their cars because employers already have the duty to ensure the safety of its employees: better security, stability and insurance. If employees have the legal right to hold firearms in their cars, then what good is it for employers to ensure the safety of their workers? At the same time, it’s also a danger to other employees because people may start to discriminate against each other, plus given that gun control is a highly debated topic, people will have their political agendas, thus causing friction and uneasiness in the workplace.
