Youmans 1 Roger Youmans Jr. Intro to Physical Education Observation 1 Professor Lowden Physical Education can not always just be taught out of a book or in a classroom, usually it has to be taught hands on as well to see how other physical educators teach. When my group attended Canandaigua High School to observe their Physical Education class I observed plenty and learned plenty of valuable information that might help me in the future. Being my goal is to be a physical education teacher, it was a real thrill to be able to observe a class rather then just be participating in one as I did through out high school. The grade level I observed included both 11 th and 12 th grade students who were all guys. The teacher stated that usually classes are Co-Ed but this not being one of them because of how the classes were arranged. Canandaigua High School does not have block scheduling as they have 41 minute periods which makes it hard to have a more productive physical education class because time is limited as you have to give the student’s time to change before class and change after and not be late.
