Facility location is a major business decision. The location is key to success. If a business is placed in a well populated and trafficked area this will be helpful for business. When a business is placed in a bad location it will affect the business greatly. Location considers the population, traffic, neighborhood, natural disasters, and crime rates. The Oreck Corporation considered all of these factors when decided where to open their new manufacturing company. The company considered Louisiana as the new home of the plant, but many factors affects this decision. Although Louisiana would be a great investment because of the easy access to the transportation of goods with six major railways and a Mississippi River; the city of business site was the problem. The company had chosen New Orleans where the Oreck headquarters were located. The city still had not recovered from
