PAM 210 Exam #1 Preview Exam #1 will be on Thursday, October 2 from 7:30-9:30 pm in 101 Bradfield Hall (BDF 101). Bring a calculator. You cannot program your calculator. Make sure your calculator is in floating decimal mode (not programmed to express every number only to two decimal places for instance). You are not allowed to use your cell phone. Table A will be provided on the exam. The exam will cover all the material from the following handouts: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.3-normal quantile plots, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.6 I will not ask anything from those sections in the book that we did not cover in class. You don’t have to know the equation that defines a normal curve (page 2 of 1.3). You won’t have to do the derivation we did on page 4 of 1.3. You won’t have to do any of the derivations that are posted under the Derivations folder on Blackboard. I will ask for the following formulas: •variance, standard deviation, correlation, slope and intercept of least-squares regression We grade the exams strictly. Make sure you round correctly. Make sure you check all your work. You have 2 hours to complete the exam, so take the time to check your final answers....
