Unformatted text preview: Turn over Anthropology 2350 MIDTERM 2007 REVIEW SHEET The midterm will consist of 4-5 (I haven’t decided yet) “short answer/essay” questions. My definition of “short answer/essay” means that you will write at least a short paragraph (2-3 sentences in most cases) in order to answer the question. If you are writing a paragraph, then you’ve got to get your thoughts organized sufficiently, that’s what makes it an essay. I will give you guidance at each question for the expected length. You will be allowed some choices among the questions you are presented with. The midterm will cover all of the readings through the following major topic headings on the syllabus: • DEFINING TERMS: CULTURE, RACE, AND ETHNICITY • AMERICAN HISTORY AND THE CREATION OF “RACE” In addition, I would like you to read this article, listed in the section of the syllabus entitled Theorizing Race And Ethnic Relations (week 7): Edward Bonilla-Silva, “Racialized Social System Approach to Racism,” pp. 46-56 in Bonilla-Silva, “Racialized Social System Approach to Racism,” pp....
