The most significant philosophic value of the Renaissance was humanism, which places men before God. This period encouraged artist and philosophers to be more involved in the civilization and to study deeply the human body. Medical knowledge was improved by new observations and the development of scientific methods. Astronomy was also associated with the Renaissance; studies were made to reach a new understanding of the universe. Astronomers started challenging the idea that the center of the universe was Earth arguing that the Sun was instead. The Renaissance played an important role inencouraging religious figures to look for reforms in the Roman Catholic Church.
