DISEASES 3 Sexually transmitted disease prevention is a necessary care strategy for improving reproductive health. They remain a huge public health problem. The diseases are harmful and irreversible. Sexually transmitted diseases lead to long term health problems. Chlamydia trachomatis Sexually active adolescents and young adults are at higher risk for acquiring a sexually transmitted disease. Chlamydia is a bacterial infection that is spread through sexual contact with an infected person. Studies have shown that sexually active adolescents have high rates of chlamydia infection.
