Translations from one language to another may lose certain meanings or would just be completely wrong when translated. According to “TheFoolsParadise.com” there are many different translations changing the form of the poem. IfThe Pantherwere to be classified by a certain style, it would be free verse. In most of the translations there is no specific rhythmic pattern or any type of pattern by which Rilke is able to express himself freely without sticking to a certain style. In this poem, a panther is locked in a cage. The cage has trapped this panther for ages to which the panther begins to think that there is nothing behind the cage; no world. Refusing to be trapped and tamed, the panther paces around his cage hoping to escape but comes to the realization
