Ron Walters 5/19/08 WR 121 Ruben Casas Rhetorical Précis Brian Reed’s essay, “How to Survive a Zombie Attack: A Guide for the Living” (2008), asserts the point that in our consumer based populace, a shopping mall is the first place a mass of brainless zombies (not necessarily the undead) would flock. He supports this thesis by describing what a zombie is and how to survive an “attack”. Reed’s purpose is to compare society today to a massive invasion of zombies in order to show how we are mindless and only are driven by the need to “feed”. Judging by the relatively new comparisons to movies and books, I would say the intended audience for this essay is horror movie fans and people more towards the middle age.
