Ron Walters Ruben Casas WR 121 4/30/08 The Clan of One-Breasted Women Williams’ “The Clan of One-Breasted Women” was a wonderful depiction of the governments overall rule against the country, strength in numbers, and a big vs. little matchup. In her thesis she states “Children growing up in the American Southwest, drinking contaminated milk from contaminated cows, even from the contaminated breasts of their mothers, my mother – members, years later, of the Clan of One-Breasted Women.” She then goes on with many different ideas to support this claim, such as telling about the government trying to hide the fact that nuclear testing did any harm to anybody, discussing how she was forced multiple times to watch several of her family members die, and even bringing up a dream in which those infected with the cancerous radiation grouped together and marched on the government. Ironically, the government was the only nay-sayer put into the text. They were the only people who didn’t
