Department of Chemistry CHM 1220/1225 Exam I Study Guide Coverage: The exam covers Chapters 7 and 8 as well as pre-requisite material in Chapters 1-4. Format: The exam will be composed of 10 questions (some may have more than one part) worth 15 points each. At most two questions will cover pre-requisite material. Pre-requisite material: Chapters 1-4 The material on the exam will be focused on stoichiometry problems. It may involve solids, aqueous solutions or gases. It may involve limiting reactants. It may involve writing correct formulas based on the compound name (including knowing the diatomic elements: H 2 , N 2 , O 2 , and the halogens. It may involve writing and balancing the equation.
