It the governor vetoes the bill, it has to pass by 2/3 of the each chamber, in the exact same form, no changes. Veto- in LA, as far we know but we are not sure, the governor’s veto has never been overridden since 1991. only been over ridden 3 times. 2 under () about abortion, and once under Edwards last term. Legislative Politics A power struggle b/t the legislative and the governor. a. pre 1970 rubber stamp a. the governor did have a lot of power over the legislative. The governor would propose something and the legislation would just rubber stamp it with the ok it passed. Huey is said to be the most powerful governor in la. In the movie it said a leaf flew on a legislators desk and he signed it ok, b/ c everything was good to pass. b.
