Interested in Engineering ? You might want to find out more about the Engineering profession before you commit yourself. Please find below a series of links that offer advice, information as well as schemes and projects which allow you to sample or participate in engineering related activities. At the local level, the SET points organise and co-ordinate science and engineering orientated activities and run schemes such as the Nuffield Scheme For students in Sixth Form ( Y12/13) . ± http://www.setnet.org.uk/about_setnet.cfm On a national level the main organisation promoting the engineering profession is the Royal Academy of Engineering ( R A E ) ± http://www.raengbest.org.uk/ In particular this page ± http://www.raeng.org.uk/education/default.htm One thing to note is that there are many schemes around. The RAE have grouped together a core list of schemes so that schools / parents etc. can go straight to this 'approved' list which should cover the entire school age range.
