Adam Cornwell Bus. 100 Paper #4 Diversity in the Workplace Many people argue about whether or not diversity is a worthwhile goal for corporations. This topic is one that I can personally relate to and have a strong opinion towards. After reading this article, along with having my own experience, I have made the decision to agree with the “yes” side. Diversity is a worthwhile goal for corporations. In the article, Nancy Lockwood presents many good points about the importance of diversity. One point that she makes is that, companies who are experiencing talent shortages should have the willingness to hire and train minorities and females. Firms that discriminate, reduce the size that their talent pool could ultimately be. She also points out that diversity embracing organizations will enjoy a larger market share because they would have a larger customer base. I agree with this statement because in my opinion, companies that discriminate, or do not attempt to hire minorities, lose a lot of respect
