Annotated Bibliography Bloomberg, Marty. World War II and its origins . Littleton, CO: Libraries Unlimited, 1975. The author, Bloomberg, provides great insight as to the events that led up to World War II, the War itself, and briefly the aftermath. In one of the sections titled, “Controversy on the Home Front”, the author describes America’s feelings towards President Roosevelt’s death and the reaction to President Truman taking office. This allowed me to get a better feel for the era and the significant changes that were undergoing in America. Truman greatly changed America with the creation of the United Nations, Marshall Plan, and NATO. Cannon, Angie. War and Remembrance. U.S. News & World Report; 5/31/2004, Vol. 136 Issue 19, p39-44 This report focuses on World War II veterans in the U.S. dedication of the new national World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. There is a section where the older veterans are discussing modern day issues with young troops. In addition the article comments on the friendships between soldiers during the war and World War
