CST8174 Lab#9 Objectives To remove and reinstall the CPU and CPU fan in the lab computer Equipment : Screwdriver + anti-static wrist strap Procedure : READ THE ENTIRE LAB BEFORE STARTING N.B. : Follow these procedures carefully. At all times, if you are unsure or are having problems, consult your lab teacher to ensure that you are not inadvertently damaging the equipment. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to have your lab teacher check your work before going on to another step. Remember: You learn more by asking questions than by protecting your ego! Start by insuring that you are grounded with the anti-static wrist strap. This is critical since the components you will be handling are very static sensitive. First off, you will need to remove any cables or devices that are stopping you from examining the CPU However , before you remove anything, take note of where and how it is installed in the system – this is critical to be capable of rebuilding the system to the
