CST8174 Lab 5 Objectives: To make a TCP boot disk. Equipment: Toolkit + anti-static wrist strap Computer case Blank formatted 3.5” floppy disk 8174_TCP_boot.imz (you will download this in the lab) 100 Mbit NIC card Procedure: Follow these procedures carefully. If at any time you are unsure or are having problems, consult your lab instructor to insure that you are not inadvertently damaging the equipment. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to have the lab instructor check your work before going on to another step. The following steps are to be done at a computer with a floppy disk drive before coming to your lab class. Download the 8174_TCP_boot.exe from blackboard on to your C: drive Once the file is downloaded, run the executable file 8174_TCP_boot.exe The executable will ask you to insert a floppy diskette into the floppy drive. WARNING: Make sure the disk you insert is blank or has no information on it that you wish to keep. Once you insert a the floppy diskette into the drive and click ok
