Cultural Fascism Summary In Sarah J. McCarthy’s essay, “Cultural Fascism”, she speaks about sexual harassment and the fines involved. McCarthy is the owner of a small restaurant where she employs around twenty young males. They are your typical hardworking males who like to flirt and use gestures such as “honey” or “darling” when talking to employees. Ever since the Civil Rights Bill of 1991, McCarthy has been afraid to hire women because of the vagueness of the sexual harassment law. McCarthy believes that education, rather than laws, is the answer to sexual harassment. This movement is putting women back down to a lower status because men are being hired over women for no other reason than their gender.
