The first thesis is: “In the years between 1933 and 1945, Germany was engulfed by the rise of a powerful new regime and the eventual spoils of war.” The second thesis is: “the possibilities for a photographic purpose are all laid out, but the t rue meaning or end remains undetermined.” Ayad brings them together in paragraph eleven 3. Ayad’s purpose is us to explain that photo’s can mean many things and may not be able to be explained or have the correct purpose attributed to them because “a picture is worth a thousand words.” WS: 3. Ayad ends her essay like this to help to persuade people to properly document photographs and to help to uncover whatever can be known about those already taken. Information like that can change the entire meaning of the piece. 4. Ayad draws on description when talking about the picture and many details about the war. The description is crucial to her analysis because it helps to explain what exactly she war....
