We would go over the hospital mission, values, and ethics. Its important for the new nurses to understand the culture of the hospital and the environment for which they will be working in. Next, we would go over the employee handbook, benefits, and all other important information that would pertain to them. Then, we would take of a tour of the hospital. This step is vital for the new nurses to know the layout of the hospital. I would also introduce them to their supervisors, managers, HR staff, and all other important persons for contact for various things they would need. I would also set asidetime for them to speak with their supervisors one on one so they can build a relationship with them.
