Noah Snyder October 10, 2007 Dr. James Jacob Political Science 155 Important Issues Pertaining to the 2008 Election The 2008 election is going to be one of the most pivotal and interesting elections to date in this countries 231 year history. The people of the United States of America are going to elect their new President based on many issues. I think partisanship plays and has played a huge role in our nation’s politics and weather the new president is a Democrat or Republican it is important for them to start a new and practice bipartisanship. Some key issue that will play a huge role in the 2008 presidental election are Global Warming, Gay Marriage, The War in Iraq, and the flawed healthcare system. These issues have plagued this country over the last few years. These issues have been addressed but not acted upon by the current president. It is important that whoever gets chosen to be the new president both addresses and acts on the issues as they pertain to the United States. First and foremost the issue of the War In Iraq touches each and every one of us one way or another every day. This is probably the most important issue for the 2008 election. The “Stay the Course” method that has been imposed by the Bush Administration is clearly not working as “sectarian violence” (the euphemized term coined by the Bush Administration for civil war) continues all over Iraq 1 . The fact is that the United States Military has proved through both the 1 1 Iraq War . (2007). In Encyclopædia Britannica.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
