Noah Snyder Theater 112 November 27, 2007 Rocky Horror Critique Going in to see this show I had no idea what to expect. Sure I had seen the movie of the same title during the midnight showings in my home town. I wasn’t sure if the movie gimmicks would translate to the stage production of the show. They did. In my opinion they did such a great job the movie won’t be as good next time I see it because I will say in my head while watching it “oh they actually sang this part of the song in the stage production.” The story is centered initially around Brad Majors and Janet Weiss. In the first scene Brad asks Janet to marry him as depicted by the song “Damn it Janet”. Brad and Janet on the way to visit their friend Dr. Scott get a flat tire and are forced to ask for a phone up at the Frankenstein place. Riff Raff the servant answers the door and he and his sister Magenta the maid do the time warp. Dr. Frank-n-furter the master of the house proclaims to be a

Unformatted text preview: sweet transvestite. He shows them his new creation: Rocky. Eddie shows up and tells everyone how he really loves rock n roll. Right after Eddie’s song Frank proceeds to kill Eddie with an axe. After going to bed, Frank tries to seduce both Brad and Janet separately. He succeeds with both of them. At the opening of the second act Janet up until that night a virgin tells of how she wants to be touched and she and Rocky “spend some time together”. In comes Dr. Everett Von Scott, he's come for Eddie his son. Frank chases Janet and Brad and Dr. Scott and they chase Frank which results in everybody getting frozen. Enter the floor show which then turns into the horrifying death of both Frank and Columbia die and the castle's blasting off! Brad, Janet, and Dr. Scott survive and leave with torn clothes and battered bodies....
