A1. Ethical Leader and Traits
For the past three years, I have had the pleasure of working in a collegiate department of
a clinal simulation center under the direct supervision of Ms. Jessica Urtecho. Ms. Urtecho has
worked for the institution for over ten years. She is a well-rounded individual in various
departments who have exhibited ethical conduct through the importance of hard work,
dedication, and respect for her employees and co-workers. Her department consists of over 20
employees. One moral trait Jessica has displayed is her honesty. Ms.Urtecho has been honest
throughout the department with co-workers and me. During employee meetings, individual
meetings, policy updates, and or mishaps, to name a few incidents, she had thus far been honest
and unbiased with her delivery opinions and policy changes. This trait has been much
appreciated beyond our department and noticed by her subordinates, seeking advice and views
from her expertise. Secondly, another ethical trait she has excellent judgment. She has mastered a
way to successfully use her best decision to meet her employee and department to provide the
best products and work environment.
A2. Ethical Conduct
My department supervisor exhibits ethical behavior by respecting every individual's
dignity, diversity, and rights in the department. Ms. Urtecho makes sure that she incorporates
every employee as much as possible in the overall department decisions, updates, and changes.
She has demonstrated fairness with the work schedule by allowing the senior staff to pick their
program first and allowing the team to discuss scheduling changes, which has been effective. She
is compassionate and promotes healthy and open dialogue as a part of her managing style. Ms.
Urtecho has created a positive and enjoyable work environment that has resulted in a low

turnover rate. Her ethical characteristics are admirable, and to my observation has been
successful throughout her tenure as the simulation center manager.
B1. Deontological & Consequentialist
Deontological perspective could be defined as “ the view that whenever one faces a choice
of actions, one should attempt to determine which act of those available would most promote the
good and should then try to act accordingly (McNaughton & Rawling, 2007).” In similar terms,
this approach's primary goal is to focus on doing what is morally honest. Suppose the
deontological perspective is used to approach the current dilemma of disclosing a side effect.
Then the company would ethically disclose any side effects to future consumers. Despite the
non-disclosure, exposing the potential harm to the targeted consumers would uphold the
deontological principle of morals, honesty, and fairness.
