Exercise 2.4.3 Writing the Essay: Science October 30, 2005 11:00-12:15 Exercise 2.4.3 After reading “Desperate Measures” by Atul Gawande, I see that there are different perspectives to the field of medicine. There are different ways to approach researching something such as what Oliver Sacks did in “The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat” or the way Gawande described Moore doing in “Desperate Measures.”

It may not as be as definite of a cure like Moore, but it was still something that helped his patient. Reading “Desperate Measures” helped me see that there were different ways to try to cure a patient....
