MARKETING PLAN 2 Marketing Plan for the Dell Corporation This marketing plan is compiled for an overview into the Dell Corporation. We will first look at understanding Dell and its products and services and any pertinent details in compiling the plan. In addition the areas research strategies will be defined and the PEST analysis will also be utilized. The outputs of this marketing plan process gives focus and provides direction for the product and the company. (Kotler, 2012) The use of a marketing plan holds different uses or motivating agendas depending on the company’s objectives. Nonprofit or not for profit organizations uses it for as a guide for their outreach methods; while other agencies, such as government, the objective is more designed to develop awareness. Company: The Dell Corporation Product: Dell Venue Tablet 8 7000 series About the Dell Corporation Dell is one of the world’s leading organization for the development and standardization of products and services in information technology. At the beginning, the Dell Corporation was the vision of a 19 year old young man by the name of Michael. It was Michael’s vision that computers should be a standard household item and it should be user friendly. Following his freshman year in college, Michael left college in 1984 and designed his first Dell computer by 1985. the Turbo PC, featuring an Intel® 8088 processor running at 8MHz, a 10MB hard drive and a 5.25" floppy drive. (Kotler, 2012) Dell’s first marketing approach was directed at the customer’s experience. Dell was the first in this industry to differentiated itself with risk-free returns and next-day, at-home product assistance. In addition, Dell offered customers a broad range of products and services and focused on providing solutions in technology that covered one end of the purchase to the customer service needed after the sale.
