2Nationalism in EcuadorNationalism refers to the identification and advocacy for the political interests of a nationor a group of people. The spirit of nationalism in Ecuador is mainly inspired by art and the lovefor one another. Despite being a country that has been unstable politically, the people are unitedculturally, and there is a community feeling across the country (Rodriguez, 2020). The country, however, has not transferred its cultural nationalism to the government, with the destabilizingconflicts among the legislature, judiciary, and the executive country a norm, and they have oftenresulted in many oddities in the country’s structure. Despite the three peacefultransitions of power, the political system is still at risk. How Parties Defined Themselves In EcuadorPAIS Alliance was a major political party in Ecuador that became popular for itsprogressive policies during the pink tide in South America. Its name means a country, and itrepresents both social democratic and democratic socialism (Basabe-Serrano, 2018).
