Unformatted text preview: Herrin 1 Elliott Herrin Whitaker En 102 February 15, 2007 In my final research paper for English 102, my argumentative topic is why the legal drinking age to buy alcohol, now set to twenty one, should be lowered to eighteen. This is a subject which affects many people, all the way from minors to legal adults. However, in my paper, I am speaking to mainly adults, and specifically to those adults who think that minors are not responsible enough to drink. However, on a lower level, I have only one audience member, my English teacher. My goal is to prove to her that this there is a way (a very responsible way, in fact) to lower the drinking age and show minors how to drink responsibly, which is one of the points I make in my paper.
