Garden State By Nathan Sullivan In the film staring and written by Zach Braff the viewer is thrown into a young mans struggle of not only growing up. Not only to become a man but also to deal with the events that have made a huge impact on his life and who he has become. It is a strange and unique story that leads the viewer on a trail of tragedy with a helpful amount of comedy. When the main character is met the viewer sees a glimpse of his bleak and almost sterol apartment. They then see him open a medicine cabinet full of orange bottles. This amount of pills is the thing of color that is seen in his apartment leaving the viewer with a feeling of something like piety for this young man. However the viewer only feels worse for him as he goes from this place to his job that he clearly hates and is poorly treated at. From this he leaves to go back home for his mother’s funeral. And it is at this mournful event that he has a chance to live again and become happy. With this event he meats a young woman named Sam and tells her why he has
