1 November 2006 Three Types of Aviation There are three main types of aviation. There is general aviation, corporate aviation, and mass transit aviation. Each type has its benefits that make it great. General aviation is more suited for people that use flying as just a hobby, those that use corporate are those that have businesses and need to be flown places for business reasons, and mass transit is simply large planes used to carry many people to a destination. General Aviation When thinking of general aviation, it includes small planes, mostly just for fun, usually takes place during good weather, and can be an expensive hobby. As far as small planes go, they are usually single engine airplanes only holding between two and four people. However, there are the airplanes that have two engines and can carry anywhere from two to seven persons. The types of planes out there are numerous and the variations are infinite. In general aviation, most are flying for the pure joy of flying. A great part of general aviation is that it can be done just for the fun of it.
