The article “Working At Wendy’s” by Joey Franklin from 20 Something Essays by 20 Something Writers . New York: Random House, 2006. 277-286, was about life basically. He goes through a short narration of his co-workers, and his own life. He summarizes how his co-workers lives are, and how he views his own life; also, how others may view the lives of him and his co-workers. Within the first few paragraphs Joey talks about sucking up his pride and applying for the job at Wendy’s. He describes the smell of being that of “mop water, and fries.” After giving the hiring manager his resume he says “I realize it is a mistake. He (the hiring manager) doesn't want to know my service experience, or my academic references, or my GPA. All he wants to know is if I can spell my name correctly.” This was his first hint that his pride needed to be set aside to accomplish what he needed to do.
