DNA Virus — All DOUBLE STRANDED, except Parvovirdae viral family.        All NON ENVELOPED except Poxviridae viral family Parvovirdae : Human Parvovirus SS (N-E) Causes:  -Fifth Disease -anemia in immunosuppressed pts. Adenoviridae : Mastadenovirus  (N-E) Causes: -resp infec. in humans -some tumors in animals Herpesviridae : Simplexvirus (HHV-1 and 2) Varicellovirus (HHV-3) Lymphocryptovirus (HHV-4) Cytomegalovirus (HHV-5) Roseolovirus (HHV-6) (HHV- 7) Kaposi’s sarcoma (HHV-8) Causes: -fever blisters - chicken pox -shingles -infectious mononucleosis (MONO) -implicated   in   a   type   of   human   cancer   called  Burkitt’s lymphoma Hepadnaviridae : Hepadnavirus Causes: -hepatitis B  -liver tumors  Poxviridae :  ENVELOPED **Brick shaped Orthopoxvirus (vaccinia and smallpox) Molluscipoxvirus Causes: -small pox  -molluscum contagiosum (wart like skin lesions) -cow pox N-E= non enveloped En= enveloped SS= single stranded RED = Icosahedral in shape
