Drury 1 Summer Drury Mrs. Bailey English 1102 February 6, 2008 Theme for English B As I sit down to write this paper I think of the instruction we are supposed to follow. “Go home and write a page tonight. And let that page come out of you --- then, it will be true.” As I think about that I hear the music of a time before mine. I think about how at the young age of only 18, I feel that life is as stressful as it will ever get. Yet, I know that the reality of it is that life will only become more stressful as time goes on. However, as the stress rises, so will the rewards of my accomplishments. I’ve learned many things in my 18 years. Some lessons I have taken to heart without experiencing any hurt or happiness myself. Other ones have had to been experienced first-hand, with all the emotions attached to it. As I write this, life is still going on around me, just as it will forever more. Many things make me happy in life including my animals, my dreams, my family, and being in love. Without any of these things, I wouldn’t know what to do. They each bring something different yet necessary to my life. They help keep me grounded even on those days where it feels like my whole world is being turned upside-down. My animals keep me sane, even on my craziest days. My dreams keep me motivated, even on my most depressing days. My family brings me companionship, even on my loneliest days. And love, well love keeps me Drury 2 happy, even on my saddest days. I know that as long as I have these four things in my life, I will always have everything I will ever need. Whether I’m 18 or 80. This is my theme for English B....
