Properties of a System at Equilibrium a. add 1 mL of 0.20M iron (III) nitrate, Fe(NO3)3, and 2 mL of 0.20M sodium thiocyanate, NaNCS, to 50 mL of distilled water in a 100-mL beaker and stir b. divide this solution equally among four 16x150-mm test tubes c. to one test tube, add 2mL of 0.20M Fe(NO3)3 d. to another, add 0.20M NaNCS e. to the last, add a few crystals of mercury (II) nitrate, Hg(NO3)2 f. shake the contents of each tube, and compare the resulting color of each test tube with that of the fourth tube, which has been reserved as a standard g. record observations and account for the changes of color observed in table 15.1A B. Label 5 clean, dry 16x150mL test tubes 1 through 5 iii. Obtain from reagent bench about 40mL of .05M iron (III) nitrate, Fe(NO3)3, solution in 1M HNO3 in a clean, dry 150-mL beaker iv. Using a buret, measure 5.0mL of the Fe(NO3)3 solution into each test tube
