Standardization of a Solution of Sodium Hydroxide - Clean a buret, a graduated cylinder, a 500mL Florence flask and 3 250mL Erlenmeyer flasks - Fill wash bottle with distilled water - Rinse apparatus with distilled water - Prepare a dilute solution of sodium hydroxide by adding 50mL of the stock solution of NaOH to 250mL of distilled water in a 500mL Florence flask - Shake the flask to mix the solution - Keep flask stoppered except when transferring solution to buret - Assume the concentration is 0.12 M - Using an analytical balance, weigh onto weighing paper 3 separate samples of about your calculated number of grams of the acid - Record masses in table 16.1A - Add each sample to a clearly labeled 250mL Erlenmeyer flask - Add 25mL of distilled water to 2 drops of phenolphthalein indicator - Titrate the solution of NaOH prepared against each of these solutions of standard acid -
