Unformatted text preview: CHE101 Lab Julianne Stiene Experiment 3 Flow Chart September 30, 2007 Obtain a 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of plastic and a paper grid sheet for ions Attach the grid sheet underneath the plastic sheet using 2 paper clips Wipe the plastic sheet carefully with a dry cloth to remove any residue Hold the bulb of the Liquipette between thumb and two fingers so tip is angled perpendicular to desktop Practice using the Liquipette by releasing water drop by drop from the tip Use cations Fill the Liquipette with solution and carefully squeeze only one drop it its own circle in the left column on the plastic sheet Add 9 more drops horizontally across the sheet *each drop must be centered in the dark circle to allow clearer sighting of white precipitates Continue until you have a complete matrix of cation solutions, 160 drops in all Use anions Fill the Liquipette with solution Carefully squeeze only one drop in its own circle in the top row on the plastic sheet and then...
