CHE101 Julianne Stiene Exp. 9 Flow Chart November 26, 2007 - carefully insert a medicine dropper into a #1 1-hole rubber stopper - then insert a second medicine dropper into a #0 1-hole rubber stopper if using a measuring tube - or a #00 1-hole rubber stopper if using a buret - Stopcock must be open if a buret with a stopcock is used - add sufficient water to the leveling bulb, raising it as appropriate so that the measuring tube is filled to within 1mL of the top calibration when the water level in the bulb is the same as in the measuring tube - if all joints are tight, the level of the water in the measuring tube will return to its original level when the leveling tube is raised to the same original level - Weigh .18g of sulfamic acid, HSO3NH2, on balance - Remove stopper and add the acid to the 50mL Erlenmeyer flask - Also add 10mL of distilled water - Weigh into a dry 1-dram vial just over .1g of unknown sample - Record masses - Add 1mL of distilled water to the vial and lower the vial carefully, sliding it
