Jeremy Hansen 822810934 Mwf, 11:00 a.m. Homework #1, energy drink experiment Section 1 The question at hand is, “do energy drinks promote better cognitive ability because of increased arousal and alertness”? To answer this question, a double blind study will be performed. For this experiment, one-hundred test subjects will be selected at random. Half of these test subjects will receive Red Bull Energy Drink, which according to www.bevnet.com includes Carbonated water, sucrose, glucose, sodium citrate, taurine, glucuronolactone, caffeine, inositol, niacin, D-pantothenol, pyridoxine HCL, vitamin B12, and natural and artificial flavors and colors. The other half of the subjects will receive a placebo, which will be nothing but sugar water with carbonation and artificial flavors and colors. No test subjects will be informed of what brand of energy drink they will be receiving (this will ensure that no test subjects have a preconceived notion of what they are about to drink should taste like or make them feel
