Napoleon once said, “A Leader is a dealer in hope.” Ladies and Gentleman, My names Matt Foster and I would like to thank you for coming to this afternoon’s presentation honoring the Greatest American of 2007. Valor, Patriotism, and World Impact; all things I think of when previous great Americans come to mind.This award is given to the American Citizen that most embodies the American Ideals of serivce,education,and most importantly their world impact. This person has served this great country for the past 33 years. His long career of service all started with graduating from West Point and being commissioned as a second Lt in 1974. He was placed in an Infantry unit, in which his leadership skills were quickly put to good use. He was put in command of airborne, air assault, and mechanized infantry units. In 1983 he was awarded the General George C Marshall Award for graduating at top of his class at the Army command and General staff College. As a Captain in the Army, he spent two years at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson
