Introduction: The purpose of this lab was to use a self level and a rod to be able to take backsight and foresight readings at turning points to be able to calculate elevations at turning points in any given closed or open traverse. Equipment: Self level Tripod Rod Rod level Procedure: The path taken for the group is as follows: as you enter Olin Engineering Building, go up the stairs and make a right and follow it all the way to the end until you reach the door. This was the Benchmark. Then make a left until the end of the hallway and this was turning point 1. Once at turning point 1 make a left and follow the hallway until the end was reached and this would mark turning point 2. At turning point 2 make a left and continue until the end of the hallway at which this would mark turning point 3. Then make a diagonal left turn until
