Bayli Price 12/3/15 Clinical Observation #3 Cultural Ancestry Exploration Culture is something that I don’t think about on a regular basis but is infused throughout my family and in how I was raised. My parents have been married now for 22 years and have seven kids (all biological) so there is never a dull (or quiet) moment in the house. How I was raised and who has raised me has made me who I am today and I am proud of who I have become. My mother followed in the footsteps of her mom by having seven children and her mom raised them with strict Christian morals and beliefs. They moved to many states during her childhood due to her father’s job, but nonetheless, settled in Matthews for several years before moving to Iowa where they currently live. We go to visit them at least once a year, usually for Christmas, and the family has grown so much that my grandma and grandpa now have 26 grandchildren and that number is continuously increasing. They live in a three story house sitting on 35 acres with a pond, and whenever we visit, the kitchen is the unofficial meeting place where everyone congregates to.
