Nadene AnayaAST102- Instructor: Michael MadsonModule 3: Lab 8Milky Way GalaxyApril 5, 2018Part 1:1.I would describe the distribution of clusters on the plot as being a pattern. I found that thecluster increase by right ascension.2.RA = about 20 hours plusDec =about-30 degrees plus3.Thickness of Galactic Disk =about 15 kpc plus4.Distance to Galactic Center = about 3.5 kpc plus5.Diameter of disk of Galaxy =about 30 kpc plus
6.Diameter of Halo of Galax= about 35 kpc plus7.The thickness of the galactic disk, the diameter of disk and the diameter of halo have thelargest uncertainties, the distance to the galactic center is the least. Those three were thehardest to locate. I think uncertainties happen when objects are hard to find especially ifthey are at a farther distance.8.Distance to Disk of the Galaxy = about 4 kpc plus9.RA = about 18 hours plusDec = about 30 degrees plus10.I’m thinking that it was omitted in diagram 1 because of the similar cluster plotted.
