Router - Switch – Device use to connect multiple devices to a network connection. Similar to a Hub, but is more efficient. Switch has a Switching table to route the data to the desired device. Gives 100% of bandwidth to each device when instructed. Hub - Repeater – device used to reassemble electronic signals and boost the distance by recharging the signal. Has 2 ports (1 incoming and 1 outgoing). Bridge – Used Voice Over IP Phone – Uses an internet connection to connect to another phone. Is good for offices because of the unlimited calling to all US cities for the same price. Server - Network Printer – Connected to each computer through the network, and is used to print documents and pics from any computer on the network to the printer.

Fiber Optic cable using light signals to transfer data. Very precise data transfer with faster speeds than copper wire. Fiber is not affected by any interference from other electronic devices and can carry data for a longer distance than cable, due to the speed of light and the power of lasers....
