PERSONALITY THEORY ANALYSIS 2 Personality Theory Analysis A learning theory is defined as a particular process by which people learn and how they accommodate a relatively permanent behavioral change or its potential (Feist & Feist, 2000). In the field of psychology many experts have created theories in order to understand human behaviors. The learning theories within this paper will talk about Skinner's behaviorism, Rotter and Mischel's cognitive social theory, Bandura's social cognitive theory, and finally Kelly's psychology of personal constructs. We will also discuss the humanism and existentialism theories of May, Rogers, and also Maslow. Their theories adopt a holistic approach to psychological health and human existence by determining the different meaning as well as values, tragedies, personal experiences, responsibility, spirituality, human potential, and self- actualization (Colman, 2010). In the following paper we will describe the role of personality in affecting situational behavior, we will also examine the personality characteristics attributed to each theory, and finally we will examine the interpersonal relational aspects associated with the theories selected. In the field of psychology many experts state that according to the learning theory people act according to the influence of the environmental conditions as well as cognitive, and behavioral conditions. Some of this influences include personal beliefs of whether they have the ability to accomplish a particular task to influence their ability to do the particular task. According to Bandura (1997), he refers to this particular behaviors the expectation self-efficacy. Bandura strongly believed that the strength of personal efficacy heavily influences the reactions of a person in a given situation. On the other hand we can all agree that even though a significant influence, it is not the only effect on a person’s behavior. The combination of the surrounding

On the other hand the behaviorist learning theory states that learning takes place in a trial and error basis as people experiment with different behaviors until they find the one behavior that is reinforcing. This learning theory states that people will utilize previously learned material
