Overview:
Business Policy & Strategy cuts across the whole spectrum of business and management; unlike other business courses
that concentrate narrowly on a particular function of the business – such as: accounting, finance, marketing, production,
human resources, or information systems, strategic management is a big picture course. It is the center of attention of the
total enterprise – -the industry and competitive environment in which it operates; it deals with the long-term direction and
strategy, its resources and competitive capabilities, and its prospects for success. During the course, the students will be
trained on the foremost is sue in running a business enterprise: “What must managers do, and do well, to make the
company a winner in the game of business?” The answer that emerges, and which becomes the theme of the course, is
that good strategy-making and good strategy-execution are the key ingredients of company success and the most
reliable signs of good management.
Rules:
In this course, students will have a great experience – challenging, but very rewarding. This course is intended to be a
challenging capstone course for the business student, and as such will integrate and build upon the knowledge and skills
you have acquired through your previous coursework. Key activities of the course include exploration of why good
strategic management leads to good business performance, understanding of the basic concepts and tools of strategic
analysis, and mastery of the methods of crafting and competently executing a well-conceived strategy.

This course is designed to help you integrate previously completed coursework — accounting, economics, human
resources, finance, marketing, management — to make managerial decisions. While applying the tools acquired in these
courses, you will learn how to develop strategies for credible, ethical business decisions. Various political, social,
legal/regulatory, and technological issues must all be considered when formulating strategies for today’s business
environment and you will learn to systematically address each of these issues, in both domestic and global contexts. To
develop a total graduate that can compete favorably with other graduate from other school; to raise leaders that will
impact their generation and contribute meaningfully.
